i know i said i'd update as much as i can but i've just been swarmed with endless projects! and i have a midterm test on research methods tmr.

AND I'M DYING!
i just spent the whole day looking at stats formulas.
TQAO, parametric, non parametric testing.
least square fit, variance, standard deviation, z test, t test, chi square, f-value, critical values, p-value, sig. level, wilcoxon-signed rank, mann-whitney u test, kruskal-wallis test.

GAHH. thats only the second half! and i only read thru the 1st half of my lectures notes - the more theoretical ones. so i'm taking a short break from studying before i hit the notes again! talk about monday blues =(

for vday this year, all i got for small face was a really cute customised panda keychain. and the panda is super puny and cutee!

small face surprised me (cos he told me he wasn't going to get anything) with a rose and a drawing he did of me. he got angry when i made some insensitive comment about his flower =( sorrryyy

in the afternoon of 14feb, i acc-ed small face to west coast tmc and we met some really funny and outspoken presenters there. it was quite an eye-opener. during the meeting, the toastmaster of the day shared with us the sms promotion by STB whereby the 1st 2009 visitors are entitled free entry to jurong birdpark, sg flyer, sg bumboats and national museum for every weekend of feb.

i got quite excited and immediately thought of daddy and pet. cos mummy was away in cambodia for mission trip. plus, she had specifically reminded me to spend vday with my dad otherwise he very poor thing. and lucky thing small face didnt have any plans. being the very filial daughter that i am.. ahhas, i called pet and daddy to hurry meet us at sg flyer to see if we can free tickets.

but u know LA! singaporeans! ALL THE TICKETS REDEEMED ALR! sigh, wasted trip. anyway, it was already 7ish by then and we had no idea where to eat. everywhere would sure be packed with couples. and somehow we ended up at chijmes.. the parking is $10 per entry. DAMN EXXXX!

and mostly everything at chijmes were offering only valentines set for two. and with every restaurant that we went to check out, pet would be like, "i'm not daddy's gf." or my dad would say smth like, "only this 2 are dating. the other girl is my daughter." HAHAS like it wasn't obvious! so nonsense the both of them.

i actually wanted gyu kaku but daddy had some buffet craving. so we crossed the road to carlton hotel and ended up at cafe vic. buffet was at 45/pax. the vday buffet was 75/pax. but its basically the same food just tt the couples get wine, a complimentary photo and chocolate praline. so waste money! anyway, the food was ok only. nothing fantastic.

it was funny cos while stuffing ourselves with seafood and what not, my mama sent an sms to say how pitiful the cambodian kids were, they don't even have meat to eat. and daddy was saying we better not tell her we enjoying good food here. ha. i think at that moment we all felt quite guilty. oh well.

sometimes i wonder whether which of us look more daddy.

my valentines.

the bill totalled up to a good 212 dollars! damn exxxx. oh and then after footing the bill, daddy wanted to walk abit to digest his food. and so we walked.. WE WALKED FROM CARLTON HOTEL TO RAFFLES CITY SHOPPING CENTRE. and he said, ok enough walking already. HAHAS i don't think the whole walk took more than 10 mins laa! tsk tsk.

anyhoos, i'm looking forward to good food later! jy's sister wedding food tasting at M hotel. and i happily agreed to join even though jy wouldn't be there (he got lesson) and even though i had to spend 6 hours by myself in school (cos lesson ended at 12 and the dinner starts at 7). hahas recession time maaa. free good food like that must eaaat!

i actually blogged this last week. but blogger had to be a total bitch and screwed up the autosave. so after wasting time blogging for an hour plus, i'm left with this - a half saved post. BAH. and if you're still interested in a barely there post, there you have it..

the last time i attended a wedding was X number of years ago. and if my memory serves me well, the last wedding i attended was felicia (my cousin) and samuel's. and joshua (their son) is already turning 3 in may. so it was quite exciting when mandy (another cousin) announced that she was tying the knot with BC on 7th feb!

it was quite exciting, really. shopping for the occasion, dressing and dolling up for the event, seeing everyone look all glam and pretty. so i'm jotting down the day's events (7/2), lest i forget everything.. like how i always do.

so the family got up around 6-7ish in the morning to bathe, doll up and what not. then it was off to uncle renie's! the groom was stated to arrive at 0830hrs and by 815, we were still on the expressway! pet and i were praying we won't be later than BC. otherwise, we stuck outside the gate with the groom then cannot get to see all the gate crashing action hur hur

so thankfully, the minute we stepped into uncle renie's, 5 cars came horning noisily into the tanahmerah carpark.. the groom has arrived! sammyboy was the doorman so he went downstairs to open BC's car door whilst we wait rather impatiently for the groom to come up. hahas exciting whaat.

so mandy's jie mei, all decked like yellow bananas, had a couple of gate crashing tricks - the usual angbao collecting, milkbottle-feeding the groom and his bros bittergourd juice with wasabi, making them do the lion dance whilst peeling mandarin oranges to spell out I LOVE YOU, making his bros eat strings of sweets tied around his waist, making them dig out a bogus key to mandy's room from a pail of icewater filled with many other keys and finally they had to sing adam sandler's I WANNA GROW OLD WITH YOU. it would have sounded alot of better if they knew how to sing ahahs

hooooters!

so yes i know this post is quite overdued considering we celebrated kel's bday on jan 29. but better late than never!

since the rest were busy with stuff, it was only birthday girl, aroon and me. it took a 15mins msn conversation for us to finally get settled on hoooters. i think i can safely say the three of us were quite excited to step into the land of tight singlets with bursting boobies and XXS orange FBTS with impossibly ugly shoes.

it took kel and i quite abit of courage for us to step into hooters. maybe we were there too early or smth, cos only a few tables were occupied. it almost felt wrong to be there ahahs

so thats me making kel pose for hooters whilst we pluck up our courage to enter the restaurant. and when we finally got in, a whole group of girls and their boobs welcomed us warmly.

their menu was quite interesting, what with beef fondue and fried pickles. we weren't too big on pickles but we gave the beef fondue a shot. anyway, when we thought beef fondue, we thought the sauce would be beef sauce or smth. turns out it was just beef cubes with three diff sauces for you to dip. tsk tsk misleading.

all in all, the whole place felt like a mini mild porn trailer. the food wasn't that fantastic but it was quite fun to watch girls walking around in crazy tight orange FBTs. it was pretty entertaining, im sure aroon was entertained (:

and how can anyone go to clarke quay and not have dessert at pump room?! so we strolled over to pump and got ourselves our favourite warm chocolate pudding and this new dessert, some mango custard thingy with passion fruit.

me: i think its passion fruit! yaa.. its passion fruit laa!

aroon was telling us about this new game he co-buy with his cousin, this karaoke xbox game called LIPS and he was telling us how fun it was and all. so since it was 8ish, we went to aroon's place to play/sing LIPS. hahahas and thats when we found out aroon can't sing to save his lifee! his singing is just so out of this world, mere words can't explain the funniness of it. next time k.. next time i'll upload the many many videos of aroon we took.

afternoon at labrador park.

gosh, i've got so many things to update and i don't know where to start! but i've been really reaally swarmed with projects, our 1st birthday event and mandy's wedding!

about our (kel and i) first biz deal! we're helping this girl from my course plan her 21st! very exciting cos its the first time we're charging for our services and working with pple outside our social circle. so exciting i wanna peee!

lets track back to last thursday (29/1) where aroon, kel and i met up to celebrate kel's birthday at HOOTERS! more on that in another post.

then the rest of the secschgang met up at my place for steamboat on sat (31/1) to celebrate bern and kel's belated bdayy. it was xbox after that - viva pinata, soul calibur and LIPS! was quite alot of fun. no pictures though, em was the camerawoman so pictures are with herr.

monday (2/2) was a MAD DAY. i had back to back classes from 10-6! talk about monday blues yooo. then i managed to hitch a ride from fiona, to send me to holy family church at katong for mandy's wedding rehearsal.. to practice how to walk for the lectoring (reading e scripture).

small face brought me to labrador park yesterday (4/2) to exploree. the place is crazily humid and mosquito-infested. the park also has that spooky vibe, maybe cos its the only place which still has any remains of the world war ii destruction.

so after lunch at seah im, we bus-ed down to pasir panjang FC and walked in. if i haven't alr mentioned, the walk in was so bloody humid and hot i wanted to diee. it was so bad i kept complaining evry 15 mins. a typical conversation throughout the whole trip would be..

me: huhh. still wanna walk ah? tired already laaa! lets goooo!
him: aye babby! bring you out complain so much ahh. so noisyy.

ok, so at labrador park, you can either choose to turn right or go straight ahead. we decided to turn right. and after working for 200m, we were greeted with this.

the house behind small face is known as labrador villa; that was how labrador park got its name. this house was actually built in the 1800s by a british guy. the British government then forced(?) the guy to leave his house and took over the place in the 1900s. they converted the whole area around labrador park into a fort.. we went into the house to take a look, the whole house is converted into a spa alr.


ok, our official historical tour begins..

we saw alot of pill boxes (? - british soldiers use to hide in them and shoot from the inside), a sealed storeroom dated 1982, a 6inch gun(?), and 2 spots where british artillery guns used to be. shoot. i really don't remember ahahs

no pictures taken cos i was quite spooked. the whole park looked quite dark with all the trees covering the place.

there's some story about the forth door (the one on the extreme right). but i don't really rmb the exact details. you can actually visit the inside of these doors. they are suppose to be open from 10am - 6pm daily. but dont know why it was closed yest. oh well.

there were huge spiders like these all over the entrance of the fort.

me: eh i wanna take picture of the huge spider!

him: darling let's go! the spider so big, sure quite poisonous!

me: hhahas you scared ah?

him: scary whatt. some spiders bite got venom and the venom and kill ok. not like the ghosts you scared of.

i was quite tired after all the walking (bag heavy) and small face still wanna go explore the beach area! AIYO. i wanted to diee!

can you imagine the skies were this dark for the whole few hours we were there?! and it would occasionally drizzle ABIT and that was it! omg the dry spell. anyway straits times reported that it did rain yesterday but lucky not at labrador park. i wouldnt wanna be stuck in that mozzie-infested area.

sidetrack: i've been shopping alot by myself today and on tues just to find something to wear for mandy's wedding. i bought 2! for morning and night.. sometimes, shopping alone makes me feel more independent and grown up. but i guess its good to have a friend around so you can get feedback on certain clothes you can't decide if you wanna get or not. ohwell. this is totally random hahas.
