the BOYS i know.

1. Never grow up

P1020757  P1020758

thats why they say you can take the man out of the boy but you'll never take the boy out of the man. thats aroon and bernard (picture right), both above 20 and still playing like five year old kids.

2. Like to think they are strong.

3. Have adorable brother(s)/nephew(s)/niece(s).

 P1020688  P1020726

from left to right: vincent's brother - daryl, kok's nephew - leroy & kok's niece - leanne.

4. Take retarded pictures.. like this.

P1020702

5. Have pretty girlfriends *tweet tweet (that's me attempting to whistle by the way).

P1020691

6. Don't know how to celebrate birthdays.

P1020743  P1020746

kok got me to send out the invites instead of doing it himself. he even forgot about the camera. luckily i was there to save the day (pictures) else he would have no memories of his 21st. tsk tsk.

7. Have pretty awesome female friends (:

P1020675  P1020668

P1020705  P1020756

8. and to prove just how awesome we are/i am (haha!), they send lovely smses to thank us

koksiong: Hey stef, thanks for everything. you've really been so nice to me. i'm lucky to have you as my sister. troubled you. loves.

awww.

9. teach you how to wash and wax your car.

P1020755

4 hours of washing, shampooing, claying, waxing and buffing your car is no joke. but darling darren not only taught me how to do all that, he even provided the sponges, cloth and car washing equipment. i think i can open my own carwash service already ahas

10. and last but certainly not the least, how many 20 year olds boy you know know how to bake!

P1020760

ta da! oh my god. tiramisu with hershey's spread all over.

P1020685

our lovely chefs.. who secretly baked for us while we were watching stardust. and to think that we (gladys, kel and i) thought they had left to watch porn. and mind you, they were baking at 12 am in the morning. madness. such nice guys where to find!

a little thank you:

i am very grateful to be blessed with such great friends, both boys and girls. you all are the friends i love and treasure. i don't think i can find a group thats better. its been five years since we've graduated but i'm proud to say we are still a pretty tight bunch (:

lets meet up more! i can't get enough of you all (:

xoxo,

rain, rain, go away. go away so i can tan!

is it still considered papaya milkshake if you eat 1 whole papaya, followed by 1 cup of milk and then shake your body? aye. don't laugh k. i think it not only tastes better that way, it makes you feel damn full.

recently, i've been replacing my chocolate sugar rush with fruit juices and milkshakes - kiwiorange, kiwibanana, strawberrysoursop, strawberrymango and bananamilkshake. they all taste super gooood! (: and i think my face feels smaller after not eating chocolates for so long. maybe the theory of how lesser sweet stuff = smaller face is true!

oh and the weather's such a bitch. all the rain last week made going out such a problem. in any case, i went out despite the rain.. to T3 and singapore flyer! i'm like such a tourist can. ahahs next place i wanna go to is big splash!

T3 was really pretty! i don't think its as big as the other 2 terminals but it looks damn chioo! the transit area and er public area? are seperated by glass panes so it gives that whole dramatic feel. like imagine if your friend were to leave you for country X for a very long time, so you both look and cry at each other but only you can't touch each other cos the glass is seperating you ahahs its like those chinese drama serials!

oh oh and they had like 3 chocolate shops there! the cocoa tree or leaves?, candy empire and chocolat factory? anyway, they had humongous hershey's at cocoa! huge ass giant hershey's!

The Singapore Flyer.
Tickets costs $29.50 per pax for a 30min ride. You know how from a far you always think the flyer is closed cos the wheel doesn't seem to be moving? well, don't be deceived. cos it is moving! just really really really slowly. and i didn't take the ride. figured it would be a waste of $29.50 just to squeeze in a noisy capsule full of people for 30 mins. maybe i'll go when the price dips ahahas

oh and i'm SUPER HAPPY! thanks to some astute students in my econs module, the lecturer has made some amendments to the marks and now i have 30/40 instead of 29. YAAAY!

what would you do if your cookie crumbles?

i'd bake me a new cookie (:

if you were an animal, what would you be? and why?
a giraffe - so i'd know what it's like to be tall.

i signed up for nus sports camp as facilitator! oh my god oh my god! the boy kept laughing cos i don't even look anything like someone who plays sports, let alone be a sports camp facilitator. but hur hur.. don't look down on me k! my two smarts answers on top got me a ticket for an interview with the sports camp people. and i survived the interview! but they are only opening up 24 slots for camp facilitators so sigh.. tough competition. 5d4n of fun sports and activities.. can't wait can't wait!

anyhow, let's backtrack to last friday

in the afternoon, met sher to shop for her darling kaiwei's birthday present. kel was in town so we bus-ed down to orchard to recruit one more member in our present hunt. after walking for alot, sher got him a belt from AX.

camwhoring according to height.. 158cm/162cm/173cm HAI.

hahas kel's pose.. damn funny la!

after that, sher left us to meet her darling while kel and i bus-ed down to china square to meet pengster for dinner at aglio olio - singapore's version of pasta!

where we were..

our food! i got too hungry to rmb to take pictures of the pizza before eating hahas anyway, the menu was interesting. i think cos it's singapore's version of pasta.. it meant lots of chilli padi. diners get to choose between 4 levels of spiciness - mild, normal, spicy and extra spicy. the different levels just meant either lesser or more chilli padi.. which is no difference to me cos i just whack all the chilli padis (according to kel) hahahs

after a very good and garlic-y dinner, i brought the girls to my secret place.. on top the fullerton. i love the place cos the view is just excellent. and you get to see three different parts of singapore.

view 1: esplanade and some of the hotels

view 2: boat quay!

view 3: construction of the marina IR?
question: what is singapore's national bird?
answer: the crane hahahs

after walking around for a bit more, i went home to a very dramatic episode of the chronicles of j and s. but yea, everything's all good now (:

saturday:
b box at hougang - which is basically a pirated version of k box

sunday:
had billy bombers cookies and cream milkshake! then the boy and i had no choice but to catch the waterhorse cos step up 2 was full house. the movie is not that nice laa.. its some story about the lochness monster. it got so boring at some point that i kinda dozed off hahas

monday:
the boy pissed me off! he was supposed to meet me around town after his eye appointment so we could go to east coast lagoon to eat. but nooo, when i called him, i found out he didn't go for his eye appointment. he was at home playing dota. and he still wanted me to travel down all the way from nus at clementi to his home at hougang just so he could play dota. i don't know why, but that got me super pissed. i was so angry i wanted to slap this fat guy on the train next to me cos he was taking up my seat.

sighh. but being the nice person that i am (haha!), i didn't slap the fat man. and i forgave the boy so we could have a super filling dinner at newton! and since dinner ended early, i thought i could catch step up 2. so off we went to cathay amk and guess what! FULL HOUSE! oh my god la! i'm just not fated to watch step up 2 is it! grrr.

oh oh oh! then i came home to my very average econs results. rmb the econs test i was whining about? anyway i took the test last thurs. i didn't study laaa. all i did was 4 past year papers and that was it. i was even contemplating to fake some illness so i could buy myself some extra time to mug. anyway, i ended up getting *drumrolls twenty nine out of forty. HAII. not too bad la huhh. maybe if i spent more time mugging instead of blogging, i could have gotten full marks hahahas ya right.

okay i better go read my film art. hello mise-en-scene!

black and brown

black and brown (two)

in memory of the puppies.

okay, i'm just going to do one more post! and i'll stop.

somewhere during december, my dad kept talking about 5 stray puppies that were wandering in his office. apparently, mama stray dog brings them to his office area to keep them cool in the day. anyways, my dad loves them la. he kept saying how cute the puppies were.. and how he will feed them milo during lunch.

so one fine day in december, my mum, sis and i decided to be kaypoh and went down to my dad's office to see the puppies. oh my god they looked so cute! two were black, the rest was brown. one had a short tail and one was fat. anyways my dad decided to bring the fat black one and the brown short tail back for the night.
hahas it was a whole family affair. we had to bathe the puppies, then hairdry them, feed them, make a home (box) for them. it was super cute. AND, daddy named them after us. the fat black one was me. and the short tail was vanessa.
vanessa was always on the move so it was very hard to take a picture of her. but stef, living up to her name, was very guai. so ta da! peektures of stef. and ps, the puppies were all male.
hahas strangled by the neck by vanessa.
i wrapped the lower half of his backside with plastic bag! ahahas in case he shits. too cute laaa!

vanessa and i got pretty sad when the doggies had to leave. but my dad brought one back the following week. only this time, it was brown, thin and had a longer tail. no pictures of that that one cos i got lazy. but anyways, the poor puppy died in january. some stupid man reversed into the parking lot where the puppy was sleeping and it got crushed! so sad laaa! but my dad said everyone in the office was super sad too.. so they buried him somewhere near the office and one fella even wrote the puppy a eulogy and posted it on the notice board. HAHA!

poor strays.. and to think some dogs like paris hilton's chihuahua are treated like royalties while these poor things get illtreated. sighh. my dad says the other puppies either got sent to spca or some kind soul adopted them already. awww i miss them =((

opportunity cost of wasting term break - good grades for econs test.

i basically didn't do anything productive for the whole of term break. the best i did was to watch one econs webcast, attend one project meeting, finish my report, attempt to study with emily at woodlands library and that was it! after that it was just play play play. and i played so much untill my body couldn't take it and i fell sick on sun. hahas i know la.. weak!

so here's some of the fun parts of the term break:

wednesday saw me and sher at siloso beach! i got burnt! hah and thats not even the tragic part. the tragic part was when JY's mother saw me and she said there was no difference! and i still look damn white. walaoooo. 4 hours under the sun where got no difference!

me and sher camwhoring without our makeup.
hahas sher was trying to make her eyes look bigger.
poor girl can't take pictures under the light without having to squint.

the boy was at the beach having some company cohesion day. so snap snap! took a picture with him before he went to join his err men. i don't know why he just looks bad in pictures.

sher and i left sentosa around 5 plus for BEEF CHILLI CHEESE FRIES at carl's junior! oh my god it's sinfully goooood.

then snap snap! camwhoring in the toilet. the peek's a bit blur but we look so much better with make up on. and check out the height difference mannn. she's bending and still, she's taller than me. aye, i'm not that short laaa. she's just that tall. hahas

since all we had were fries, i made sher pei me go kim gary's for some french toast! oh my god oh my god. FRENCH TOAST.. MUSST FEEDDD!

thursday - cheng hui and i accompanied the boy to sim to submit his uni application. so we took 151 from hougang interchange. i don't know if i'm suaku or what but that was my first time on a pink sbs bus! sooo cute!

oh and the bus driver sucks please. i was climbing up the stairs to get to my seat. and that lousy ass of a driver suddenly jam brake. and i rammed my shin against the step! damn pain la! i was screaming and groaning like shit can. oh oh oh! and the bus brought us past scgs where we saw all the gurkhas(?), guards and all those in green staring into the trees looking for that JI terrorist mas selamat. ahahs it was quite interesting.. and erm, funny laa. plus, i can't believe that mas selamat is only 1.58m tall! that's my height! oh my god stef is as tall as a man (: hahahas

oh ya, never try taking a picture of a picture.. else the picture ends up like the one below. this was me attempting to take a picture of the boy's ic picture. that blur blur forgot to bring his other pictures out so he had to steal the one in my wallet to submit to the school. so i wanted to take a picture of his picture.. for memory laaa. hahahs in my wallet for three weeks already what!

friday morning was spent at the polyclinic. i needed to get a referral for an eye appointment. i was there since 8 in the morning and i only managed to leave TWO hours later. i hate polyclinics la. need to queue to register, queue to see the doctor, queue to get a referral and queue again to pay. like what the hell la. super waste of time. AND I WAS THERE ALONEE. EVEN BESTT.

the only other time i left the house was at 1am, for supper with kok and darren. as usual, they were full of rubbish. here's one such instance

me: eh you two the supper machiam dinner la! one having horfun, and the other ee-mee. what the.
darren: nooo.. got difference. dinner must have RICE with veggie and pork. supper is lesser.. like noodles.
me: err thats alot of difference

so seee! nothing productive for that week. and i shall end this post off with a camwhore-tic peekture of myself hahas.

yes yes, i'm blogging again - hello kelly! hahas. and yes yes yes emily, i'm blogging like crazy now.. instead of studying for econs. shit laa. i really suck at time management can. i got seven econs chapter to clear by today and i just wasted twenty minutes blogging. walaooo. steff!!!

my surprise valentines & post valentines

valentine's day this year gave me twelve ugly blueblacks!
no thanks to the big box of surprises which the boy kelly gave

i got fooled by the both of them! i thought kel was so nice cos she offered to meet me for lunch since i had a 3hr break. and when we met, she gave me this super huge and heavy box telling me that a tan jun yuan told her to pass this to me, i was in shock! cos 1, i never expected a present(s). 2, i never expected my present to be that big and heavy and 3, i brought my super heavy laptop with me cos i thought i still had about 2hrs to kill before the next class. i swear i nearly died trying to carry both my laptop and box around school. and my thighs kept banging against the box which voila, explains the many blueblacks on my right thigh. and that cost me a week of wearing pants to school!

thank you for the presents (:
and kel, thanks for helping him ahahs

fast forward to the next day, which was a mini chinese new year gathering at my place.
peektures from the bbq:

our chefs for the night - bernard and aroon

our beef burgers, supposedly. hahas i took the beef patty out too early so the meat kinda defrost and got stuck into small lumps which ended up looking like pieces of shit ahas. plus, we didn't know how to toast/bbq our bread. so our burgers ended up looking like diseased food. but it still
tasted good!

our food! by the way, kel and i spent nearly 2 hours preparing the food! she was in charge of cutting the food. but i took too long to wash the sotongs that kel ended up cleaning and cutting the chicken and fish. she even had to cut the sotongs for me cos i kinda went off track playing with the sotong ahahs

our super poseur head chef. who the hell wears shades in the dark?!

those that came.

our dessert! roasted marshmallows! yummm

errr. our chocolate.. which was suppose to be for our chocolate marshmallow fondue dessert. see, i was trying to melt the chocolate bar but the chocolate still looked super thick so em and i were trying to think of someway to dilute the chocolate. and how best to dilute things? water. bad mistake. the chocolate didn't get even close to diluting. instead, it got all mashy and mushy and ended up looking like this.. one wasted chocolate bar =(

and our picture of the night *drum rolls.. a very suggestive picture of emily trying to lick vincent's nipples hur hur

after clearing up, it was many rounds of polar bear and murderer at my place. and fyi, i suck at murderer. i can't tell who's winking at who! thats why as detective, i can never spot my murderer. and i think as civilian, i might not even know if i got murdered. and this is the biggest joke, as murderer, i don't dare to wink. scared i get caught ahhahas

i took forever to wink when i was murderer..
gladys: eh the murderer super lousy la! how come not killing people
darren: YA LORR. murderer do your job laaaa
=((

oh my god i just spent nearly 4 hours updating my blog. and i've got an econs test this thurs which i have yet to study for. super good time management la stef.

the year of the bingo and totingo.

reunion dinner was at changi golf club (i think). after that, it was off to uncle renie's place for some after dinner chitchat.. this was where it got fun. because..

we had our first tan family bingo game, thanks to uncle renie. so the game goes like this, every interested family member puts a pool of $1 per pax and you are entitled to a piece of bingo slip. each slip contains a 4 by 5 box containing numbers from 1 - 79. its idiot proof cos its like toto. you wait for the bingo machine to roll the numbers and you pray that you all the numbers on your slip of paper gets called out. part 1 of the game requires you to get all the numbers on the first row.

and guess what! i was first to get all the numbers! and ka ching! 3 dollars in the pocket. THEN, i was first again to get all the numbers on my slip called out. but being the gong gong that i was, i shouted full house instead of bingo. like which idiot calls full house instead of bingo when the name of the game is bingo right. damn smart la stef. so the adults demanded a penalty since i called the wrong word. the deal was if the next number called out and somebody strikes a bingo, i would have to share the pool money. BAH, aunty chai hong got her bingo! but she was nice enough to give me her share of the winnings so hur hur 33 kaching!

ta da! bingo winners (:

apparently, bingo wasn't the end of the night yet. during dinner, we had to fill our names out and pass it to felicia. we were going to play deal or no deal. so whilst i was still shaking from my super tyco bingo luck, felicia was calling my name. turns out that our darling nephew joshua picked my name out from the pool of names and i was the lucky participant in our tan family's version of deal or no deal!

deal or no deal game going on..

ho ho ho. instead of courts briefcases labelled from 1-25, i had angbaos labelled from 1-10. highest prize was $200 and lowest was $2. and i got $120. i swear that was my best day ever.

me and my ang bao prize money together with my very generous sponors - sam and felicia (:

then came chinese new year, no peektures cos the uncles haven't mailed them out yet. anyhoos, the bingo game got super addictive during new year. so much so that we had so many different versions of bingo, we even had totingo! bah. i'm too lazy to explain how the game works. just that i didn't win a single bingo/totingo round AT ALL despite the many many many rounds we played for those three days. ended up losing like 60 dollars in total.

but new year didn't suck that much cos i followed JY and his friends for some random chinese new year clubbing session at le chinois. it's actually where the old crazy horse nights used to be. and that pretty much sums up my xing nian oh eight.

january - you came back. part three!

(iii) kel's treat!
kel's birthday part two!
when em and i were planning the surprise for kel, we came up with the plan to trick her by convincing her to just treat us to a casual birthday dinner since she wants it simple and low key. being the excellent con-women we are, kel fell for it and so she called pump room to make reservations.

anyway, we thought kel would call off the reservations since we celebrated her birthday for her already. but she decided to treat us still! so lucky us cos we got to feast on good food and lager. yaay! i love birthdays (:

where we were - pump room at clarke quay

we had some really good main course(s) at pump room but unfortunately we didn't manage to take any pictures cos our first reaction was to EAT! so by the time we wanted to take pictures of our food, our plates will pretty much sparkly clean.. with our saliva. so this time, we decided to tahan just a little longer and take some pretty pictures of our deliciously sinful dessert.

some chocolate pudding which was very good & some fruit thing which got quite je lat after a while

spot the odd one. kel laaa! cheat! hahas

and i was in my ugly uniform cos silly me rushed out of the house thinking i brought my top out. instead, i brought my strapless bra out.. without my top. i'm such a genius.. seriously wanted to slap myself that day. grrr.
