the chinese new year feverrr.

i always love chinese new year! for the excuse of getting new clothes and receiving ang baos!
not forgetting, a break from skoool.

so to feel more CNY-ish, small face and i decided to go visit chinatown to squeeze with the rest of the smelly sweaty people - so it feels more like new year. and as expected, the place was packed like sardines.. and people smelt like sardines and felt like sardines ahas. but there was nothing much to see or buy laa, the stores were mostly repetitive.

they had pink doraemons for sale! since when was doraemon pink ahhas. i overheard someone commenting about those pink doraemons and i thought it was funny, "how come the doraemon ballons pink one ah? must be made in china." HAHAS then we saw the cast of little nonya on stage for some lame performance; joanne peh's body is HOTTT.
anyway, small face and i walked ALOT. town-with-alot-of-chinese-people got boring so we decided to walk to raffles place then to clifford pier to one fullerton to esplanade. it didn't seem like alot. but hell, we took three friggin hours just aimlessly roaming around. we were so shagged that i demanded to take cab home instead of NR. the bloody cab fare was 25 moolahs but the taxi driver was driving super fast. his record high was 140km/h. i think his average speed was at least a 110km/h. basket, he can be in TAXI 4 already la hahas
as for new year's eve!, i was trying my best to help mama out with the steamboat preparation lest she nags. mama wanted me to wash the veggies. BASKET I SAW ABOUT 4 WORMS on the greeens. i made pet take pictures of two lucky worms - the thin, black one and the fat, white one. hahas almost describing me and small face.
the spreadd!
a very happy pet waiting for the soup to boil.
a family picture while waiting for the soup to boil...
the soup didn't boil! there wasn't even teeny weeny boiling bubbles on the surface of the soup. all the steamboat machine did was produce weak steam. so you could imagine our whole dinner topic revolved around:
1. how the steamboat machine must be spoilt alr
2. how they need to buy a new steamboat machine
3. is the light on the steamboat machine on
4. is the heat on the steamboat machine set to the highest
sighh. mama ended up having to boil our food on the stove first then transfer it back to the steamboat machine so we can eat. super troublesome. and you know what was the best part? after about two hours, the machine started boiling! huge huge boiling bubbles started appearing only after we all decided to stop eating. BEST. our family must be damn lucky.
anyway, happy lunar new year alll!
